OUR ENVIRONMENT
The location of Santa Mónica Suites Hotel is one of the features that make it a special place. With direct access to the dunes and the beach, the hotel offers its guests the best views of one of Gran Canaria’s most impressive landscapes, the Maspalomas Dunes Natural Park.
The Maspalomas Dunes is a natural area located in the south of the island of Gran Canaria. It has the status of a special nature reserve and consists of a set of dunes with characteristic halophytic dune habitat unique to the Canary archipelago. This habitat is unique to the island of Gran Canaria, as there is no other dune system with the same characteristics on the island.
As a perfect contrast to the tranquility of the hotel’s location, just a few minutes’ walk away, guests can access a wide range of leisure activities, catering to both daytime and nighttime enthusiasts. Playa del Inglés is a tourist area that offers visitors a multitude of activities, usually concentrated in the main shopping centers: Centro Comercial Yumbo, Plaza de Masplomas, Centro Comercial Cita, and so on.
The climate in the south of Gran Canaria is considered one of the best in the world and is characterized by sunny skies and mild temperatures typically hovering around 25ºC.

REDUCING GREENHOUSE GAS EMISSIONS
At Santa Mónica Suites Hotel, we conduct an analysis of greenhouse gas emissions per guest, calculated based on the consumption of electricity, water, diesel, gas, chemicals, and high-emission food items in our menus.

As observed in the summary table, this year we have increased by 0.16 points, primarily due to electricity consumption. We expect to decrease this figure with the actions we have taken in that regard.

At Santa Mónica Suites Hotel, we are aware of the importance of conserving our surroundings and protecting and supporting biodiversity, as we are situated in a privileged location that needs to be cared for.
It is crucial for us to help preserve and/or restore endangered species in our environment. Therefore, we provide information to our guests about these species and how to avoid harming the flora and fauna during their tourist visits.
